F.A.Q. ABOUT APPLYING TO ROCK CAMP FOR GIRLS

What is your admittance policy?
Campers are selected by a committee seeking to establish a balanced and diverse camp population in relation to instrument groups, age, race/ethnicity, economic status, geography/community, and experience. Campers are not selected on a first come, first served basis. Please be aware that we make every effort to welcome back returning campers, but we cannot guarantee spots for returning campers. Returning campers who were not admitted last summer will have priority over returning campers who attended in 2008. Likewise, campers who have already attended camp 3 years in a row may not be able to attend this summer, but will have higher priority the following summer. In short, we encourage everyone to apply.

How do I know that you've received my complete application? Should I call the office to check?
Upon receipt of your completed application, we will send you a notice via email (or snail mail if an email address is not provided) confirming that we have received it. If you have not received a notice within 3 weeks after you send in your application, call us at 212-777-1323. Please don't call unless you haven't received a confirmation and it has been a full three weeks since you sent in your application!

Where should I email my Express Yourself Piece?
Please email files no larger than 20MB to winter@williemaerockcamp.org

My Express Yourself email keeps bouncing back because the file is too large. What should I do?
Please make sure that the file is under 20MB. If you're still having trouble, try sending through one of the following free sites: www.mediafire.com, www.megafileupload.com, www.megaupload.com and direct the file to winter@williemaerockcamp.org

When will I hear if I've been accepted or not? Should I call the office to find out?
Applications that were received by the round one deadline will be reviewed the week of March 9th. Notification letters for Round One applications will be mailed on Friday March 14th. All applicants who apply after March 9th will receive notification letters the week of Monday May 11th. Please do not call the office asking about the status of your acceptance - we will not be able to tell you over the phone. Thanks!
